Minimum Requirements:

  • A&P or IA certificate required,

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience on general aviation airplanes (Cessna, Pipers etc.),

  • Work permit in the US required.


Interns

The Capital Wings Services High School Internship Program is designed for motivated high school students interested in aviation careers. This hands-on, educational experience provides interns with exposure to flight training, aircraft maintenance, aviation operations, and career mentorship. Our goal is to inspire young aviation enthusiasts and provide them with foundational knowledge and skills that can lead to future careers in aviation.

Program Duration & Schedule

  • Program Length: Depends on the High School program.

  • Hours per Week: 10–15 hours (flexible scheduling around school commitments)


Internship Tracks

  • Learn about aircraft pre-flight procedures and assist with aircraft readiness.

  • Gain exposure to flight training, simulator use, and aviation safety practices.

  • Assist instructors with flight scheduling and student coordination.

  • Participate in ground school sessions to understand aerodynamics, weather, and flight planning.

  • Work alongside FAA-certified mechanics to learn the basics of aircraft maintenance.

  • Assist in inspections, minor repairs, and maintenance documentation.

  • Learn about tools, aviation regulations, and aircraft systems.

  • Understand the path to an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.

  • Gain experience in customer service, scheduling, and operational logistics.

  • Assist with marketing, social media, and student outreach initiatives.

  • Learn about FAA regulations, flight school management, and business operations.

  • Participate in event planning and community engagement projects.


Eligibility Requirements

  • High school students ages 16-18 with a strong interest in aviation.

  • Able to commit to the full duration of the internship.

  • Parental/guardian consent required.

  • No prior aviation experience required—just a passion for learning!
